There are a ton of things to do on the weekends, and time can be spent in so many different ways.

In reading and studying successful people, I have learned, that in order to become successful you gotta work overtime.

I have realized, that if you have dreams and goals that need to be achieved, the weekends become a make or break.

We have access to a lot of free spare-time throughout the weekends.

If you want to be successful at achieving your dreams and goals, then you need to be hyper-focused on where you invest your time.

Every minute counts.

So, are you using your weekends to get ahead, or are you spending the weekends letting go of your disciplines and routines?

Weekends are great for spending time doing all of the things you have been craving all week.

If you are not careful or aware, the weekends can also set you back.

Here Are 12 Things Successful People Prioritize On The Weekends:

1. They Identify Priorities For The Upcoming Week

Life is a train that never stops moving. Age does not matter, because no matter where you stand in life there is always something taking place.

Those things are ever-changing and it is up to you to take control of the wheel and direct your own ship.

Looking at your current weekly and daily agenda you are well aware of the tasks and responsibilities that move the needle forward in your life.

Identifying priorities for the work week ahead, and putting pen to paper to those ideas, will help you get to where you want to go.

2. They Journal About Successes And Failures

Journaling is a powerful tool if harnessed properly.

On the weekends you will find yourself with more time on your hands. Make sure you maximize that time by scheduling a few moments to reflect by doing some writing.

In order to achieve true success in anything that you do, you must stay the course. You must stay consistent.

Exercise becomes a priority for all successful people, they know that without their health, they have nothing.

Weekends are a great time for you to block an hour or more of your time to go get some physical exercise completed.

Often times, people think about the word “exercise”, and they believe this involves solely walking into a gym and lifting weights, or jumping on some monotonous cardio machine.

As humans, I believe, we are creative geniuses. All of us!

The difference is that some just learn how to tap into it, and most don’t. But we all have it in us. Every one of us.

Successful people dig deep into their minds and they search for their interests, in which they can pursue and create something out of nothing.

Weekends are full of spare time, and the successful people out there take advantage of those opportunities each weekend.

Successful people pursue the things that move them, and they apply their weekends towards focusing on new interests that they can explore and expand on.

9. They Eat Well

Working for different institutions, I have been blessed to work with a variety of talented people.

At work, I noticed a trend when it came to people and their nutrition.

I noticed we would adhere to a more strict, cleaner, way of eating throughout the week. Then, the weekend would roll around, and all that adherence would go right out the window.

On Monday’s, we were all complaining about how lethargic we were.

The start of each new week became a detoxification process. If you have been there, then you know the deal.

Building a healthy approach to eating, and a healthy relationship with food, is essential.

Successful people know that if you want to grow into becoming the best version of yourself, a big place to start is your food.

Use the weekends to learn more about nutrition and macronutrient splits.

On the weekends maximize your time in the kitchen and cook yourself and your family some well deserved meals.

10. They Go To Sleep Earlier And Catch Up On Rest

Sleep is one of those parts of life that is highly underrated. I think we all know how important sleep is, but yet we still take it to unhealthy levels.

A poor sleep schedule is something that should be a made into a priority, to improve.

Proper and sufficient sleep plays a significant role in key areas of our life, such as: weight, heart health, immune system development, brain health, and mood.

Successful people know that they can only perform at their best if they take care of themselves and they prioritize key ares of their lives such as sleep.

Learning new things is something that a lot of us still do today. We take on new tasks, new jobs, new challenges and we learn along the way.

Learning to take on new skills, try new jobs, and constantly challenging yourself, are all extremely valuable in life.

Technology has sped life up, I believe. More than ever before, we can do extradorinary things, access information, and see things that we never would have even imagined just 50 years ago today.

Successful people use their time wisely. They don’t just put their time anywhere. They analyze first what the return on investment is, and then they begin planting their seeds.

Successful people use their spare time in a fashion where they see it as an investment.

On the weekends, most people find themselves with spare time. Use this spare time to learn new things.

How often do you get outdoors and go for a nice long walk?

Think about the last time you put your running shoes on, grabbed your partner, children, friend, or dog, and just spent some time moving under the sun?
