Energy is not talked about much, it is something that just exists and often times over looked.
In life, your energy levels are vital and we may not think about it too much, but there is only so much energy that can go around.
If your goals in life revolve around self-improvement and producing as much greatness as you possibly can each and every day, then your energy levels are going to be important.
Here Are 9 Different Strategies That You Can Implement Into Your Day To Produce And Protect Your Energy Levels:
1. Get Organized
When we look at our day, we should have a plan of action that is attached to it. Routine is that plan of action and let’s face it, we don’t talk enough about the importance of a solid daily routine.
Organization is a requirement if you are looking to set a solid daily routine for yourself.
Take some quiet time alone, with a paper and pen and create a daily plan of action for yourself. A plan of action that is going to help you writing out every last drop of effort and execution to move you into the right direction.
You can begin by jotting down some personal goals of yours that you feel are important to you. By having a list of goals you can now implement smaller habits that revolve around the achievement of that goal.
Protecting and producing higher levels of energy should be on that list. We feel our very best as humans when we are improving and progressing.
Organize your thoughts and create a detailed plan of action on where you would like to go and then break down how you plan on getting there.
2. Improve Your Diet
Our nutrition is the fuel for our body. I enjoy eating just as much as the next person and often times I find that when I am indulging in delicious foods that are not of the greatest food sources such as sugar and processed carbohydrates, I find that my energy levels take a huge blow.
If you are struggling with waking up in the mornings with strong energy, stop, and reflect on your overall nutritional intake.
Ask yourself questions such as:
- Am I practicing fasting in any way shape or form?
- What sources of carbohydrates am I eating?
- Am I familiar with the term macro nutrients and the proper ratio’s?
- How much protein, carbohydrates, and fats am I consuming on a daily basis?
- At what time am I cutting off my eating?
- How much protein am I consuming on a daily basis?
These questions are important. Not just for your daily energy levels, but for your overall health. It is okay to eat anything and everything from time-to-time. However it is of utter importance to maintain a grip on your nutrition so that 70-80% of the time you are fueling yourself properly.
3. Stay Hydrated
We don’t drink enough water.
Humans are comprised of 60% water.
According to the USGS, vital organs such as our brain, heart, and lungs are composed of over 70% water.
This information tells us that water intake and staying hydrated daily should be at the top of our daily priorities.
We often question why it is that we are not running at optimum levels, when we are not even considering our daily water consumption and the valuable role that it plays within our health.
Look into purchasing a large water bottle or water jug that you can fill each morning and take with you to work, school, and any outside errands. This can help you stay mindful of your water intake and helps to create a gauge.
If your energy levels are suffering and you can’t figure out exactly where to improve, this can be a great start that is quite often overlooked.
4. Take Small Breaks And Recharge
In today’s world, we are moving at a faster pace with the revolutionary changes that have been taking place over the course of years.
With technology being one of those revolutionary changes, we often time never give the mind a break. We can even fall to believe that “taking a break” equates to pulling out your phone and scrolling through social media.
Look for small gaps of time within your day where you can just sit alone and just quiet the mind.
The opportunities are all around you, you just have to reflect and slow down to identify them.
5. Avoid Unhealthy Habits
Unhealthy habits are small and just like energy levels, they can often be overlooked.
Things like; smoking, over consumption of caffeine, too much screen time, over eating, under eating, ignoring mental health, stress, etc. all of these habits can take a toll on your energy levels and can eat at your quality of life.
Take time to get organized and audit yourself and your habits.
Sometimes we are engaging in habits or with people that are not conducive to our goals.
While quitting un-healthy habits can be very difficult, exercising your self- discipline and looking for help can do wonders for your daily energy levels and can improve your quality of life, making the difficulty well worth it.
6. Practice Stress Management Tactics
Stress is something we all experience and while some handle it better than others, it is still something that should be audited and addressed.
Take time to focus on different ways that you can manage your stress within your daily schedule.
Some great options are:
- identifying stressors
- finding emotional support
- breathing techniques
- being around nature
- exercise
- meditation and guided imagery
- ensuring that you get adequate sleep
When we prioritize our mental health and our emotional states we get to tap into the greater part of who we are deep down inside.
We are able to produce more, progress more, and give back to the world more on a higher frequency that we might not be able to tap into if we do not address these things.
7. Absorb Daily Sunlight
Sometimes all we need is a little bit of sun exposure.
There is so much going on indoors that if we don’t slow down and catch ourselves, we may go days or even weeks and months without going outside and just letting the rays of the sun pierce through our eyes and skin.
The sun provides energy and we absorb that energy and transmute it into other daily activities.
Take some time whether it is first thing in the morning, or on your lunch break to just go outside and let the sun hit you and absorb its powers.
Go for a little walk each day. This is a great way to knock out a few powerful daily habits in one shot.
8. Get Moving!
You would think that in order to improve your energy levels, you want to preserve your energy by not exerting too much of it. After all, a good workout will knock you on your behind for a little while.
But working out and moving your body each day is actually a great way to produce energy and get your physical and mental health in order.
Start slow.
Begin by just taking your body out for a walk each day.
Partner with your doctor and get clearance for how far you can push the throttle and slowly build yourself up with more challenging physical exercise.
Over time, you will find that moving your body consistently will vastly improve the quality of your life and thus increasing your energy tank.
9. Prioritize Sleep
Last and certainly not least—sleep!!
It’s so easy to stay up late and stream some great addicting shows that somehow seem to never end.
You start one episode and before you know it, it is 2AM and you are on episode 12. We have all been there.
We also know how terrible we feel the next morning, when that alarm clock goes off and we desperately search for the snooze button.
Exercising self-discipline and turning off the screens at night is really important so that we can prioritize our sleep time and the quality of our sleep.
Give yourself a solid 8-9 hours of sleep each night.
While some people may say, you don’t need to do that—try it anyway.
The next day your body and mind will thank you when your overall resiliency is at a high and you can conquer those tough tasks at school and work.
